NOTICE OF NOMINATION AND VACANCY ELECTION FOR THE UNION BARGAINING COMMITTEE (one [1] position; one [1] alternate position)

Nominations are hereby declared open for the Researchers Organizing Committee at Sinai-UAW (ROCS-UAW) Bargaining Committee vacancy and alternate elections (one [1] position; one [1] alternate position): All eligible Union supporters [all Instructors currently employed by Mount Sinai who predominantly perform research and who have filled out and signed a ROCS-UAW authorization card or bargaining survey] are automatically nominated for the ROCS-UAW Bargaining Committee.
Alternate members will fill positions on the Bargaining Committee in the event of future vacancies.

Any eligible Union supporter who wishes to accept the nomination for one of the vacant or alternate positions listed above must indicate their intention no later than 5pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025, by e-mail to elections@sinairesearchersunion.org or by hand delivery to ROCS-UAW Elections, 350 W 31st Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10016. Nominations can be accepted in writing, by electronic scan (pdf), photograph attachment, or by hand delivery of a signed acceptance of nomination for the specified position.

Candidate statements:
Each candidate may write and submit a candidate statement of no more than 250 words. These statements will be posted on the ROCS-UAW website if there are elections. Phone number and email address must be included, but will not be counted toward the 250 words.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to submit the candidate statement. All candidate statements must be received by the time nominations close at 5pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Election Dates, Times, and Locations:
In the event that the number of eligible candidates who accept nomination does not exceed the number of vacant positions, such candidate(s) will be deemed elected by acclamation and no election will be held.
If more eligible candidates than the number of vacant positions accept nomination, an election will be conducted, with the candidates who receive the highest number of votes being elected. All eligible Union supporters [all Instructors currently employed by Mount Sinai who predominantly perform research and who have filled out and signed a ROCS-UAW authorization card or bargaining survey] are eligible to vote. Members of the bargaining unit who have not done so may fill out and sign an authorization card or bargaining survey prior to voting.
The election will take place electronically on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 9am-9pm.
A run-off election, if necessary, will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9am to 9pm.
Voters shall be entitled to vote for a total number of candidates equal to the number of vacant positions.
