Take a moment to fill out the ROCS-UAW Bargaining Survey!
Since winning our union elections by 91% for Scientists and 95% for Instructors, we have continued to prepare for our negotiations with the Sinai Administration by electing a Bargaining Committee. Now, senior researchers are filling out bargaining surveys to shape our collective priorities for our first contract!
The next step is for our bargaining committee to draft initial bargaining goals, which all senior researchers will have the opportunity to ratify before official negotiations with Sinai begin. In order to form the most representative bargaining goals possible and to have as much power going into bargaining, we ask all senior researchers to fill out the survey below. When filling out the bargaining survey, please keep the following things in mind:
-
Some topics in the survey may already exist at Sinai, however, until we negotiate them into a legally binding contract, we have no way to enforce these policies and Sinai can unilaterally change or withdraw them at any time. With a union contract, we can both protect what we already have as well as make improvements.
-
Our goal is to strengthen conditions for ALL senior researchers through our contract. Even if some topics might not pertain to you personally, we ask you to think about the effect they have on your colleagues who are impacted and to consider the rights and protections you think would be important for all senior researchers to have access to in our contract.
-
We want our contract to be responsive to as many of our collective priorities as possible. Please use the comment sections to add or expand on anything that is important to you or any examples you would like to share with your bargaining committee. The more details we have the better!
